questions about custom mallets

Read answers to some of the common questions we get from customers about our custom engraved and printed crab mallets. Don’t see your question? Send us your question.

How long will it take for me to receive my order?

Normal production time for engraved mallets is a week or less. For printed mallets, please allow about two weeks for production. We can often complete engraved mallet orders in just a couple of days so just let us know when you need your order and we'll meet your deadline.

Does a rush order cost extra?

No. Since everything is done on-site, we can usually acommodate any rush order—even a 24-hour turnaround! Depending on where the mallets are being shipped, expedited shipping may be required to get the order to you on time.

Will I receive a proof before you start my order?

Always. Whether we are designing the art from scratch or using a design you provided, we will send you a digital proof for your approval prior to production.

Does it cost extra to have you design what will be printed or engraved on my mallets?

No. That is part of the service we offer.

Are your mallets made in the USA?

Yes, 100%.

Can I get an actual sample before ordering?

We always provide a digital proof of your mallet before production. In most cases this is enough for customers to get a sense of what their finished mallet will look like. But for larger volume orders we are happy to do a pre-production sample for you. Please email or call us at 800.750.9301 to discuss.

What is the size of the imprint/engraving area?

Engraved mallets have a large 1" high x 2" wide engraving area on the head. Printed mallets have a .5" high x 1.75" wide imprint area on the head.

Are the mallets washable?

Of course. How else will you be able to get the Old Bay off the handle!? Both the engraved and printed mallets stand up to washing after washing.

Are your mallets environmentally friendly?

They are. All of our mallets are made from recycled wood remnants that remain after wood boards have been milled from logs. The remnants are then turned, cut and put together to create our mallets.
